Hi! This is me:
I’m a creative, outdoorsy and photo-loving woman. I split my time between pet-sitting (another love of mine) and taking photos! I love to take my camera for a walk, often in my usual haunt of Chester, but I spend a lot of time in Edinburgh and Cornwall too. This makes for easy travelling to events and weddings all over the UK to take photographs! I have a degree in photography from the University of Chester and have since shot many weddings, portraits and anything in-between. I am currently building my portfolio, and so am looking to be a second photographer as well as shooting solo. If you are having a look at my images I hope you enjoy them! I’ve include a selection of my work, and I am constantly adding to the collection, excuse all the dogs! (Pet photography…!)
I have several weddings booked in for 2018 already, although there is still some space, so if you are looking for a photographer and are concerned we’ll all be booked up, fear not! I have 6-7 slots left throughout this year free. -I am also taking bookings for early next year.
Photographers- If you are seeking a second photographer for an event, particularly weddings, I am very happy to have a chat about how we could work together.
Some of my best images on here are of the beautiful wildflower wedding of Caroline and Adam. They wanted more candid, natural photography of their day, and I did my best! I also made them a little hardcover book, full of colour and moments while they were relaxing and enjoying themselves, as they should be! This is what they had to say about my work:
“Whilst having a fantastic eye for the ‘traditional’ wedding photos, Otte’s unobtrusive style also really captured the natural feel of the day in a record we’ll treasure forever.”
“Our day was captured in the most beautiful way, the photos were fantastic, and what made it even more special is that there was a folder on the USB called ‘moments’. I wasn’t expecting it and it had photos of all of the moments I didn’t get to see of family members and their reactions. It made me cry!
Thank you for capturing moments I wouldn’t have seen if it weren’t for you. Thank you for being so friendly and flexible, you went with us and worked around us, you made me feel so at ease and let me get on with everything and you fitted in seamlessly. You were there at the very start of my day, early and on time, and you stayed all day! That’s more than I could’ve asked so thank you for your hard work, it means so much that we will have these memories forever.”
a friend and fellow artist wrote me a message today that filled me with a kind of peaceful positivity about my work…
“it focuses on the little details and simple pleasures in life… it makes me want to be in the photos, which are are not staged and capture natural moments. I learned a new word yesterday (hygge) and i think it can be applied here. ‘in Danish, hygge (pronounced “HUE-gah”) is one such word. though there are many ways to describe hygge, we see it simply as the danish ritual of enjoying life’s simple pleasures. Friends. Family. Graciousness.’ x x”
